This workshop is led by Dr Claire Minshull with contributions from leading Sports Physiotherapists & Consultant Psychologists. It is a productive and practical day workshop, designed to teach exercise professionals about injury and to resource them to immediately implement strategies to tailor their conditioning for specific groups , including athletes, gym-goers and recreational exercisers, with specific rehabilitation and conditioning needs.

Although not compulsory, we recommend that you take the introductory online course in preparation for this practical workshop.

Once you have secured your place on to the course, you will be sent a comprehensive Learner Pack and you will be given access to the online resources, activities & quizzes.  These materials are designed to help you refresh your memory (or learn) the very basics of knee joint anatomy and the types of muscle activation.  Don’t worry it’s not Mastermind, it’s kind of fun!

About The Tutor

Dr Claire Minshull

Dr Claire Minshull is the founder of Get Back To Sport. Her background and expertise means that she can  provide the most up-to-date training for exercise professionals that is embedded in scientific research, but that also has a practical application.

Claire’s research and teaching interests include the influences of exercise, training and rehabilitation on dynamic joint stability, neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and psychobiological performance. Her work also focuses on assessing neuromuscular function optimally and developing specialised rehabilitation protocols for enhancing functional and performance. Claire’s area of expertise means that she uniquely spans the gap between the physiology of conditioning and physiotherapeutic rehabilitation and, she has contributed to the design of leading lower limb rehabilitation programmes to enhance important aspects of neuromuscular function.

She has worked in the field of sports medicine for  over 14 years as a Senior Lecturer, Researcher, Consultant and as a Practitioner. Claire has designed, led and managed major clinical and non-clinical research trials, supervised several PhD students, and has published over 25 research papers in leading peer-reviewed sports medicine journals.  She is regularly invited to speak at national and international academic and professional symposia, writes for sports magazines and, serves as expert reviewer for several scientific sports medicine and physiology peer-reviewed journals.

Through her private practice, Claire practically bridge the gap between Strength and Conditioning,  Neuromuscular Physiology and Physiotherapy, working with professional athletes and football clubs, joint replacement patients and clinicians to optimise physical conditioning and recovery.  She has developed a extensive network of collaborators and affiliates, which include leading Sports Physiotherapists, Surgeons, Consultant Psychologists and commercial healthcare and nutritional companies to ensure the absolute best quality to her professional teaching provision.

She is an avid sports woman, with national and international performance accolades and a real empathy for the ACL-injured athlete!
